In 1976 Don Carpenter was making steel rule dies for packaging the old fashioned way, by hand. The production of industrial lasers in the late 70's changed the industry.
In 1979 Don and a couple other partners purchased TWO Coherent lasers and started a company called Michigan Laser cut.
Lasers changed many more industries than just die making and Don was continually recieving requests for laser cutting parts other than steel rule dies.
In 1982 J&H Laser Cutting was established as a contract laser cutting company.
In 1991 Don and Phil Bennett decided to peruse custom laser cutting as their main focus, Don sold his interest in Michigan Laser cut, they purchased the assets of J&H and founded Advanced Laser Cutting.
In 2004 Corey Carpenter was voted in as a partner of the company. Corey has been a part of the company since 1993.
In 2011 Phil retired. Although we still do see him often (He still fixes things when we break them).
